Daniel Johnston

Daniel was a creative genius who always did his own thing. Lo-fi recordings released on cassettes, combined with artistic artworks which he illustrated himself.

Daniel gathered a local following in the 80s by passing out tapes of his music while working at McDonald's in Texas. But his cult status escalated when Nirvana's Kurt Cobain was seen at the MTV music award in 1992 wearing a T-shirt with the artwork from Daniel's album Hi, How Are You.
